I was sitting in the recliner and George was on my lap, just sitting. Suddenly, he stretched and then let out a scream. His little body just twisted up, then went limp...then I felt his bladder release. I was afraid to touch him-I screamed for my dad, who helped me hold him. He let out a couple of little moans and then went quiet. Dad picked him up and ran for the truck, but said he was gone before they left the house. It was very fast, and very unexpected-he's always been such a healthy little cat. The vet said it was either a heart attack or stroke...we declined an autopsy. George is now with Kitten in our backyard. I'm numb, I think...the whole thing was over in seconds. I'm so glad I hadd him..and I'm glad that we were together at the end. But I didn't think it would be this soon. We're all broken hearted here. He was our buddy. I promise I won't go away...it may be a bit before I'm up to posting or responding to e-amils, but I appreciate you all. I'm glad you loved him too.
